Madi…I love that girl! Some recent things I’ve noticed:
- She still calls me Mama and Kyle Dada
- She thinks the card game is “Gold fish”, and when I told her is was Go Fish, she decided she was going to keep calling it gold fish!
- She calls nail polish “pain nail polish”
- She’ll pretty much try any food item to see if she likes it
- She finally got to change her earrings
- She’s really good on her bike these days…and if she falls, she comes home before she cries and freaks out
- She makes friends easily and has lots of them
- She makes me smile!

Ha ha ha ha ha….got you to look didn’t I!? Here we are at the top of the ferris wheel…which we both hate! After YEARS of friendship we discovered yesterday that neither of us really likes the ferris wheel that much, but we HAD to go on a ride :) So we rode with some lady and her daughter Rosemary, AKA Rosie…and let’s just say Rosie had no fear…didn’t mind peaking over the edge, standing, etc. We were both about having a heart attack, right along with her mom! So glad we did it though!!

Last night Kandi and I went to the county fair to see Jake Owen and Josh Turner. It was a BLAST! Awesome seats, awesome songs, and awesome concert!!
Hey Traci…I saw you, but you didn’t see me…or you pretended not to see me
HA HA!

Jake :) I love him! This is the second time I’ve seen him live, and he rocks! Definitely gonna be a superstar someday! He can SING!!

And then Josh Turner started…

Thanks for an awesome time Kandi!!!

Big news today…Brad lost his first molar today. It’s been bugging him for for a while, and it finally popped out with the help of his tongue! :) That’s our excitement for the day!
August 3, 2008
This weekend Brad got to go with his friend Shane and his dad to Traverse City to stay in a cabin and go charter fishing. Although he’s pretty tired this afternoon, sounds like they had a great time!
Here are some of the pictures from the weekend…can I tell you how happy I am to have these, and when you’re not with them, you can only hope for the best. These pictures are awesome!

Pretty cool weekend for Brad, huh??

Yep, the littlest girlie in our family is turning five early next week. Cannot even believe how fast time goes…
Jill planned a cool scavenger hunt.
Cory was “in it to win it” I quote!

Zach and Xave worked as a team. Of course they did. Those two are soooooo cool together.

The kids surrounding Jill to have their list checked and pick out prizes.

Madi and the prize bucket.

Mia with her gifts from us…Hannah Montana and High School Musical stuff.

Miss Thing and her daddy and the cake.

And Madi rockin’ out a big pink bow

Thanks for a great time Jill! And Happy Birthday Maria Elaine!!!

but I’ll be back. Work is nuts, life is a little on the crazy side too. I’ll post an update soon. And pictures. I found some good OLD ones the other day!!
And this was in the Guideposts that came today…
There is a higher power within me. I said, ‘Please guide me in the right direction always and forever.’ That was the most power thing I’ve ever done. That faith of moving forward, it got me where I am. -Jenny McCarthy
I love it!!

I was cleaning out a basket and found a couple of past issues of Guideposts. I love The Up Side. It’s two full pages of uplifting quotes and little snippets. I ripped out the pages and brought them to the computer to blog:
Never, never, never give up. -Winston Churchill
Nothing you do for children is ever wasted. -Garrison Keillor
It’s no trick loving somebody at their best. Love is loving them at their worst. -Tom Stoppard
Endings are beginnings - if we allow them to be. -Laura Day
Want to see your relationships? See love as a verb rather than as a feeling.
Have a great weekend!!!

I love the words to this Sugarland song on their new CD. OK, I love pretty much the whole CD, but this one really made me think it’s what I want to be.
When the weight of the world
breaks down so strong it
leaves footprints on the street
and there’s too many miles to face
without a few more hours sleep
the storm clouds overhead wont shed
any rain to quench your thirst
I wanna be the one you reach for first
when your faith is stretched so thin
you can see right through your soul
and you can’t find a nickel to buy a smile because all your pockets all got holes
you wanna shut the door and
hide before the day can get much worse
I wanna be the one you reach for first
fall into me
my arms are opened wide
and you don’t have to say a word
because I already see
that its hard
and your scared
and your tired
and it hurts
and I wanna be the one you reach for first
I wanna be the bottle you’ve been drinkin’ with your eyes
or the road you run away on
you’ve been runnin’ all your life
the third row pew that you last knew
as a child in church
I wanna be the one your reach for first
fall into me
my arms are opened wide
and you don’t have to say a word
because I already see
that its hard
and your scared
and your tired
and it hurts
and I wanna be the one you reach for first
before your turn the key
before you fall asleep
before your drift away
to find some demons waiting for you
in your dreams
before your arms stretched wide open
before you’re reaching for the sky
before your searching for direction
and all the answers to your prayers
fall into me
my arms are opened wide
and you don’t have to say a word
because I already see
that its hard
and your scared
and your tired
and it hurts
and I wanna be the one you reach for first
